oh well, I guess you are right...
since he can't be 100% sure of what happened he can't react so violently...

btw, I liked your guide "the leg kick" it really made me kick harder ;)
i'm a noob in muay thai, but such obvious things like "turn hip..make your leg follow.." is not known by many of my classmates neither told by our instructor.

Hi Raul,
I agree ,the prank was stupid. but like I said before, if you have to kick everybody for every time they do something stupid, you'll be at it 24/7. Also, in the eyes of the law, this is not a case of self defense. The guy who does the kick was not attacked, not in the least. Nor is he helping somebody in danger, which is also a situation in which you're allowed to use force over here. So he has no legal right to do that kick. Moral right? Perhaps, perhaps not. But as it turns out, he was off the mark completely.
The laws over here are based on what a good father would do. Here, good fathers don't go around kicking somebody in the head when they don't know what's going on. Which is the point really, the kicker doesn't know jack. He just acts on impulse and he is wrong for doing so (not a case of SD and he's not helping a person in danger as the guy from the TV crew is running away).
In another situation, he might have been a hero true, but he isn't. No amount of wishful thinking changes the facts of what happened.

Hi, just my opinion... as the others.
But I think that the truth is in the eye of the beholder...
And obviously no one but the TV staff knew about it...
You say that the city is very dangerous...
What would happened if this "thief" stabbed someone?
This guy could have been a hero that day in the news channel.
Now... we know that it was a prank... and a kick to the head seems to be just a stupid way to stop someone that was running... we know that police won't do a thing... maybe he felt that he could help?
This guy couldn't know the truth.. but comon sense says that someone supicious (he has sun glasses) running after being chased means that something bad had just happened.
I can't blame this guy for kicking him... and honestly ... I think that SOME TV pranks deserve that... they are playing with fire in a dangerous city.
Would you smile after they made you believe you were in real danger?
anyway... the kick was outstanding..haha
