Thanks for writing this! You really summed up very well what I have thought for years. I fought in a lot of tournaments, and it seemed there was always some jerk that had some complex about whither he was a man or not, and had to try and prove it in the ring. I always saw the competition as a “friendly” match of skills, no one was to get hurt, but these asshole were deliberately trying to hurt you. I always wondered why the Center judge never enforced the rule of excessive contact? I am no shrinking violet, I played football for years, but why don’t the officials enforce the rules?

As I grew in wisdom about the tournament issues, I deliberately “lost” on occasion just to get out of the ring with these jerks because I had a wife, kids, and a job. It wasn’t worth it to me. Would you address the issue of judges in tournaments, and why you believe the don’t enforce their own rules. Thanks!

And as for the last video. Utter disgusting. What idiotic behaviour. Thats no way for the final of a K1 competition to end, but when fighters start acting idiotic, what can you do. I was suprised that the ref didnt give him the red card straight away and send him back to the dressing room to sort himself out.
