Thanks Brian, glad to hear you enjoyed the article.

I agree with what you say about MMA's future but I think it'll get resolved automatically. A while ago, a friend of mine asked us for predictions on the future of MAs. I said that MMA will become a traditional art (with different styles in it) in and of itself. Automatically, that means the values you mention will be stressed more than in the past. MMA will evolve to become much more than a competitive sport but to do that, it'll have to become accessible to all layers of the population. And that includes kids and teens. Which is where the values come into play again.
Might take a while but I believe we'll get there.

Thanks for stopping by!

Excellent, excellent article! From the video clip to the joke about Robocop... Which I laughed at. and the overall message. The Sport of MMA will die within two or three generations unless the coaches, instructors, media and promoters don't make an effort to curb the Discipline and Respect levels present.

No parent would ever want his kid in this sport with the way that it is being portreyed an the way it's icons behave.

Football is a brutal sport, as well as wrestling and judo, but their redeeming qualities are that they teach something more than just how to run with a ball, how to grab onto someone or to toss them through the air.

They teach the value of hard work, Discipine, Respect, how to win and loose and still maintain those values and much much more. If those involved with MMA don't take control of their sport and re-focus their priorties and goals towards instilling the same types of values, the future looks grim.

Thanks for this wonderful article, I hope more MMA practitioners hear it's message and spread it's word.
