BJ Penn fights Fox News Anchor
ByHere’s one you might like:
Fox news anchor Brian Kilmeade interviews BJ Penn and then starts asking real smart questions like “What would you do against a heavier guy like me?” Then he eggs him on to show it… Rocket scientist, yup.
To make things worse, once BJ puts him on the ground, you see the guy actually resisting and trying to fight BJ. Yeah, that’ll work…
BJ was nice enough about it and didn’t hurt the guy but some people should know better than doing dumb things…
.
What is so dumb about asking for a demonstration against real opposition? What is so nice about not injuring the person who asks?
Chris, The dumb part is resisting him when the demonstration starts.
First, there’s no way he could beat BJ, he’s not a professional fighter. So the only thing he does is making a spectacle of himself.
Second, it forces BJ to crank up the intensity to avoid looking bad. Can you see the headlines? “BJ Penn gets owned by non-training news anchor.” He can’t afford that kind of publicity as PR and marketing determine for a large part how much money he earns.
Third, cranking it up is BJ’s only solution not to look bad. But if he does so too much, he looks like an asshole for beating up a guy who doesn’t train. Which is again bad for his image. An image he’s been cultivating well the last few years. So BJ is between a rock and a hard place.
Fourth, as soon as the anchor started fighting back, BJ could have hurt him by accident. At his level, explosive reactions can happen on autopilot when you speed up or fight back.
The news anchor expected BJ to let him fight back a little, let him look good and not get hurt; it’s all about him. But BJ had nothing to gain from this, on the contrary. One small mistake and he looks like a flaming asshole for roughing up the guy. All in all, I’d say it was a dumb-ass move and BJ handled it perfectly.

Bad decision all the way! Too funny.

Now we need to get Bill O’Reily, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh and few of the other conservative asshats to try the same thing!
I’m thinking Brock Lesnar once he’s healed…
;–)
Wasn’t Brock about healed up by now? I thought he was going to fight again this Summer?

I’d like to see B.J. come to Ireland and do some demos on our esteemed members of parliament, who seem to think they know everything about everything also. The interviewer seems to have been overcome by the angst of the office worker. Silly man.
