Cop hits woman, Part Two
ByI just saw the video posted here below. It shows a cop punching a woman, amongst other things. I commented on a similar incident in the post “Cop hits woman” a while ago. After viewing the entire incident in this recent one, I can only strongly repeat the advice from Chris Rock I gave in that post.
Some people just don’t get it. Even though it’s very simple:
- When a cop tells you something, do it. Don’t argue or ask why, just do it. He has the law behind him. If you don’t obey his commands, you’re resisting. And that can only lead to getting arrested. Duh…
- If you feel your rights are being violated: file a law suit. That’s what courts are for. Trying to enforce your rights when a police officer is arresting you is just flat out stupid. Even if you’re right, resisting only makes his case stronger in a court of law.
- When a cop is arresting somebody, leave him alone. When you get in his face, all he knows is that he suddenly has a second opponent. Somebody who could punch and stab him or shoot him. This happens a lot more than you might think and it scares the shit out of most officers.
- You don’t want a cop to feel scared. He might maybe, ehm, you know, like, punch you? Or taser you? Or shoot you? What gives it away? The taser and gun he has on his belt and the fact that he’s authorized by law to use it…
- Why would he shoot you when all you do is just grab him? Because cops are afraid of having their gun taken from them and getting shot. This happens way too often for them to take any chances when you touch them. Or worse, grab them. Or in the galactically stupid department, wrestle with them.
- Now I’ve already heard the outcries of “you shouldn’t hit a woman” and similar bullshit. OK, fine… You go be a cop in a big city and you’ll quickly find out woman are just as dangerous as men. They can and will punch, stab or shoot a cop just as easily.

It’s not rocket science, common sense is all you need. Don’t argue or fight with a cop and he won’t hit you. Even if you’re a woman.

I’m surprised they both didn’t get taser action.
I also think that officer would benefit from increased pain compliance training. A few choice compressions around the arms and neck could have safely taken the fight out of those girls. But since he didn’t have it he did what he had to do to get his job done.
I agree in principle Matt but don’t think it’s always as easy as that. Have you ever had to make an arrest? I’m not being cute, just an honest question.

It’s similar to all those idiots who decide to get an exotic feline for a pet. Tiger looks cute. Tiger grows up to be a 500 animal. Tiger tries to play with owner and ends up hurting them badly. Cat often gets put down while other morons bemoan the fact that the owner got hurt.
Why did the owner get hurt?

If this would have been a big guy, he would have used other tactics. I would have maced her and yes Ive been in those situations before. We get paid to make good, quick, and sound decisions and that was not one.

Yeah, I totally agree. If you disagree with being arrested, take it to the courts. Otherwise, you’ll be guilty of resisting arrest even if you were innocent in the first place.
And I really don’t think it would have been a big deal if the offenders weren’t women. Equality works both ways, and so it should.
Still, that cop needs to work on his arresting techniques. :-)
