Fight Football

It’s news to me but apparently, there was a primitive version of football or rugby back in ancient Rome, called Harpastum. Turns out the people at the Fight Football League are using it as a source of inspiration to mix soccer, football, rugby and martial arts all together. It  reminds me of an old but pretty cool movie called Rollerball. BTW, don’t watch the remake of that one, it sucks blocky nuts. The original is way, way better, despite its age.

Here’s a promo clip from Fight Football League:

I don’t know about you but I kind of like it: no more prima donna’s on the field, complaining about a foul or pretending to be injured when a player hardly touches them. You don’t like it? Punch the guy in the face. But he’s gonna punch you right back so you better be ready. And in between fighting each other you have to play ball too and work as a team. Cool stuff.

If we could only bring this rule to the board room…

  3. We played a game when i was a kid kinda like it called Ollie Ollie. Same number of guys on each side, everything goes and the idea was capture your own flag from the other side “fort” and get it back to your “fort” First broken nose and black eyes I ever had
